Cowpens, SC — Christopher Wayne Kirby, 55, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Spartanburg Medical Center after a long battle with leukemia.
Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of John Earl Kirby and the late Lucille R. Kirby. Chris was born on November 25, 1970, grew up in Cowpens and was a 1989 graduate of Broome High School. He was a truck driver for over 20 years, enjoyed fishing, building and flying model airplanes, drawing and playing his guitar. He knew and loved his Lord and his favorite bible verse was Isaiah 41:10. Mr. Kirby was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Christi Spencer Kirby of the home; a son, Christopher Tyler Kirby (Michelle), two grandsons, Chase and Stetson Kirby; a sister, Shelia Mabry; two brothers, Johnny Kirby (Dana) and Barry Kirby (Rhonda); his in-laws, Dwight and Linda Spencer; a sister-in-law, Kim Standridge (Robert); a brother-in-law, Rodger Spencer (Randi); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be private for family.
The family will be at their respective homes.
