Estelene Spake
Mooresboro, NC — Ava Estelene Henderson Spake, 94, of 2749 McCraw Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born in Spartanburg, she was the widow of the late Vernon Eugene Spake and daughter of the late Hollis Henderson and Ava Lou Hughey Henderson. She was a homemaker, formerly worked at Peeler Rug Company, and a member of Prospect Baptist Church. She loved her family, shopping, cooking, and the Christmas season, especially the true meaning of Christmas and Christmas decorations.
Surviving are four grandchildren, Dayna Ellis (Brad), Preston Spake (Heather), Chara Boozer (Chris) and Lanny Spake (Allison); eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Spake and Lannis Spake, and a brother, Reverend Billy Henderson.
The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 1:00PM on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Cleveland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
