Gaffney, SC — Frances Owens Harris, 91, formerly of 4565 Union Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 15, 2025 at Valley Falls Terrace.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Herbert W. Harris and the daughter of the late Robert “Bob” Owens and Annie Peeler Owens. She enjoyed serving her church, community and family, loved to cook and very proud of her family. Mrs. Harris was retired from Hamrick Mills and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Richard Harris (Vicky) of Columbia and Jerry Harris (Nancy) of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Joy Hall (Jeff), Janna Gentry (Greyson), Keri Hyatt (Adam), Thomas Harris (Katie) and Daniel Harris (Ashley); eight great-grandchildren, Peyton Arredondo, Raegan Arredondo, Presley Arredondo, Emery Arredondo, Andie Harris, Hopper Harris, Waylon Hyatt and Hadlee Hyatt; and one great-grandchild on the way; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Owens and Marilyn Owens, both of Gaffney; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Gene Owens and Douglas Owens; a sister, Annie Lee Smalley; and a brother-in-law, Paul Smalley.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Reverend Angelia Price and Mr. Rick Therrell officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
