Jane Moss Sanders, 64, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2025. A lifelong resident of Blacksburg, South Carolina, Jane’s life was a beautiful reflection of grace, compassion, and unwavering faith. Born and raised in Cherokee County, Jane graduated from Clemson University and devoted 35 years of her life to teaching, touching the lives of countless students with her kindness, patience, and dedication. She had a deep love for reading, and she inspired many of her students to discover and embrace the joy of books. Her passion for literature and learning left a lasting impact on generations of young minds.
Jane is survived by her husband of 43 years, Darryl Sanders. Their marriage was rooted in deep love and years of shared joy and devotion. Darryl (or “D” as she affectionately called him) was not only her life companion, but also her devoted caregiver in her final days. She is also survived by her three daughters, Molly Bridges (Michael), Megan Moss (Tyler), and Malory Sanders; and her four cherished grandchildren— Cooper, Weston, Charlee, and Gabby— who were truly the light of her life. She leaves behind her sister, Vicki Moss Hudson (Tom), brother, Danny Moss (Angela), and sister-inlaw, Cheryl Moss, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Winfred and Frances Moss, and her brother, Steve Moss.
Jane’s life was rooted in faith. As an active member of Hopewell Baptist Church, she served in many capacities over the years. She adored her Sunday School class and found joy and strength in her walk with Christ. Her family finds peace in knowing that when she left this world, she leaped into the arms of Jesus and was made whole again. An avid quilter, Jane created warmth and comfort with every stitch, leaving behind treasured keepsakes that will continue to wrap her loved ones in her memory.
A celebration of Jane’s life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Hopewell Baptist Church. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service.
The family kindly asks that if Jane ever made you a quilt, please bring it with you to the service, as they would love to incorporate these heartfelt gifts into the celebration of her legacy. In honoring Jane’s life, may we remember her warmth, faith, and the enduring love she shared with all who knew her.
