Jimmy “Burger” Mullinax


 

 

Gaffney, SC — Jimmy “Burger” Wayne Mullinax, 77, of 106 Judson Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 9, 2025 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Mary Kelly Mullinax and son of the late Lewis Carl Mullinax and Gladys Thompson Mullinax. He served in the South Carolina National Guard, enjoyed hunting and fishing when he was younger, was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and loved his furbaby, “Happy”. He formerly worked at Cherokee

Finishing and was retired from Timken after 35 years of service. Mr. Mullinax had a great love for his family, loved his Lord and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Wayne Mullinax of Boiling Springs, SC; a daughter, Melisa Fitzgerald of Gaffney; a brother, Dean Mullinax of Gaffney; three sisters, Gloria Acrey, Betty Mullinax and Idell Mullinax, all of Gaffney; a granddaughter, Breanna Coyle (Tim) of Boiling Springs; and a great-grandchild, Arthur Wayne Coyle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela “Angie” Mullinax Cash and two brothers, Jabo Mullinax and John Mullinax.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May, 13, 2025 from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. Memorial services will immediately follow at 2:00PM at the church with Reverend Tommy Wright officiating.
