Gaffney, SC — Mary Ann Poole Clary, 88, of 1749 Love Springs Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at her residence.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Willie Eugene “Gene” Clary to whom she was married for 61 years, and daughter of the late Shuford M. Poole and Gertrude McCraw Poole. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and a homemaker. Mary was a lifelong member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher for over 25 years, a former WMU Director, and choir member for her Church. She also served as a member of Macedonia, State and National Grange. Mary was also a member of the Macedonia Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She loved her Lord and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to cook.
Surviving are three sons, Andy Clary (Rainee), Carl Clary and John Clary, all of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Drew Clary (Lindsey), Zach Clary (Erica), Kevin Clary (Gabrielle), Chris Clary and Alex Clary; six great-grandchildren, Carter Clary, Lila Gray Clary, Reese Clary, Wren Clary, Poppi Clary and Valerie Clary; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ed Poole, Charles Poole, Truman Poole and Jim Poole, and three sisters, Hazel Goudelock, Jackie Herlong and Delia White.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregivers, Patricia Quiller and Rebecca Camp, and her caregivers at Comfort Keepers and Agape Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Kevin Clary, Reverend Bryon McIntyre and Dr. Ben Poole officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Bryon McIntyre officiating.
