
Earth moving equipment will be busy for the next several weeks preparing a site for the additional building at CCC85.
The county’s economic future will brighten this week with the announcement of an industrial manufacturer locating here.
Cherokee County Council approved third reading of a tax incentive package for Project Oranges last Monday. Details of the project will be announced Thursday on the Fox Business Morning Show with Maria Bartiromo, indicating it will be a major investment. The project could be as large as a 1.3 million sq. ft. facility at the CCC85 industrial park near Hyatt Street and Old Post Road. A 555,250 sq. ft. building has been completed and a $6,200,000 grading permit for an additional 720,120 sq. ft. building is underway.
Council normally releases project details after a third reading passes but held off while waiting on final approval of its Job Development Credits from the state.
In January, 2025, Glenstar Logistics announced construction on CCC-85 Building 2 has been finished. This is the first of five buildings in the 290- acre industrial park.
Glenstar broke ground on the $415 million investment in the fall of 2023 and the walls of Building 2 were erected in August.
The five spec buildings will range in size from 240,000 square feet to as much as 1.5 million.
