Gaffney, SC — William “Bill” Allen Pedersen, of Gaffney, passed away on October 24, 2025.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, he was the husband of the late Tricia T. Phillips Pedersen and son of the late Dr. Arthur M. Pedersen and Mary E. Jensen Pedersen. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Washington, managing computer system in the Oceanography Engineering Department. He had a long career in computer consulting, primarily VMS, working with clients including Digital, Stanford, NASA, Quest, San Francisco, The Navy, and many more. He volunteered his time with high school students in the regional Robotics competitions, as well as traveling the world, innkeeping in Vermont, and making lasting connections along the way.
He is survived by his children Jon McCooey, Tamara Gossage (Vernon), his grandchildren Kyle, Jacob & Caitlyn Gossage, his sisters Barbara Williams (Loren) and Nancy Sasser (Earl), nephews Benjamin (Denise) and Jeffrey Williams (Beck McCormick) their children, Lily, Kate, Ethan, Kirsten Williams, Autumn Vosough, their families, and Bill’s current partner Anne McClung.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 15, 2025 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel, 1047 Chesnee Highway, Gaffney, SC 29341. A reception will follow the service at 211 Ruth Drive, Gaffney, SC 29341.
